PointRef (“the App”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a mobile application developed by Mosalam Ebrahimi that helps players record and analyze pickleball sessions. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide

Sign in with Apple information:
We receive your Apple-provided user identifier and, if you choose, your name and email address.

Recorded videos:
The app records video sessions on your device using your camera and microphone. These recordings remain on your device until you choose to upload them.

Account information:
Required for authentication and associating your sessions with your account.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Usage data:
Basic analytics such as session timestamps, upload status, and app version.

Diagnostic information:
Limited logs generated by the app when crashes or errors occur.

Device information:
Non-identifying technical details (device model, OS version, etc.).

1.3 Uploaded Content

When you choose to upload a recorded session:

The video file is uploaded from the PointRef app to our backend.

The backend uses Mux to process, store, and stream your video.

Metadata (date, duration, video resolution, thumbnail) is stored to provide playback and analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to provide core app functionality:

To authenticate you with Sign in with Apple

To record, store, upload, and process your pickleball sessions

To generate session analytics and playback

To maintain and improve the app’s performance

To communicate with you about important service updates

We do not:

Sell your information

Use your videos for training AI models

Share your personal data with third parties for marketing

3. How We Share Information

We only share necessary data with trusted third-party service providers used to operate the app:

3.1 Mux

We send your uploaded videos to Mux for transcoding and secure playback.

Mux receives the video file and limited metadata (duration, resolution, etc.).

3.2 Cloudflare

Our servers run on Cloudflare Workers, and Cloudflare may process network traffic and store session data (session IDs, playback IDs, metadata).

3.3 Apple

Apple processes your Sign in with Apple authentication.

These providers must comply with strong privacy and security obligations.

We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Video Storage & Deletion

Videos recorded in the app are stored locally on your device until you upload them.

Uploaded videos are stored securely through Mux.

You may delete:

Local videos directly inside the app

Uploaded videos by contacting us at the email below

Deletion requests will remove both the video and associated metadata from our servers.

5. Data Retention

Local-only sessions remain on your device until deleted by you.

Uploaded sessions are retained as long as your account is active unless you request deletion.

Authentication tokens are stored securely and never shared.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures, including:

HTTPS for all network communication

Secure storage of auth tokens on device

Cloudflare Worker firewalls

Mux's secure video processing infrastructure

No method of data transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Children's Privacy

PointRef is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe data from a child has been collected, contact us to request deletion.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your region, you may have the right to:

Access the data we store about you

Request correction or deletion

Request a copy of your data

Withdraw consent (e.g., sign out and stop uploads)

Request deletion of uploaded videos
