Karen Eats ("the App") is developed and operated by Heslil Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.

Summary

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The App runs entirely on your device. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect:

• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Browsing history or search queries
• Photos, contacts, or other personal files

Location Data

The App may request access to your approximate location to show nearby restaurants on the "Nearby" map tab. This location data:

• Is processed entirely on your device
• Is never transmitted to our servers or any third party
• Is not stored after the session ends

You can deny location access and still use all other features of the App, including the Share Extension and search functionality.

Share Extension

When you use the Karen Eats Share Extension from Google Maps, Apple Maps, Yelp, or other apps, the App receives the URL or text content you chose to share. This data is:

• Processed locally on your device to look up the restaurant
• Not transmitted to any server
• Not stored after the share sheet is dismissed

Restaurant Data

The App includes a pre-bundled database of restaurant health inspection records. This data comes entirely from publicly available government sources:

• LA County Department of Public Health (data.lacounty.gov)
• City of Pasadena Environmental Health (healthinspectionreports.cityofpasadena.net)

This database is stored locally on your device and does not require an internet connection to use.

Search History

The App stores a brief history of restaurants you've looked up. This history is stored only on your device using local storage and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear this history at any time by deleting the App.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. There are no SDKs from Facebook, Google Analytics, Firebase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any similar service.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. Since we do not collect any personal information from anyone, we are compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act).

Data Security

Since all data processing occurs on your device and no personal data is transmitted to our servers, there is no risk of server-side data breaches affecting your personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
